7th Street Public Market

Today I spent the afternoon with my mom showing her my favorite market place and all the reasons why I love it. She was astonished to find out that this little gem has been hiding in the heart of Charlotte for years. I loved walking her through the market and watching her face light up with every stop we made; it was as if with every vendor we talked with, I watched her fall more and more in love with my favorite place in Charlotte.

Our first stop was at Not Just Coffee, a local favorite amongst us Charlotteans. My mom opted for the Nitro Cold Brew, and let me just say that little guy packs a punch! And of course I went for a classic Iced Carmel Latte. Watching my mom take her first sip, it was as if I watched her face turn into the heart eyed emoji.

Our next stop was at Zia Pia Imports + Italian Kitchen. We both decided to get paninis, and let me tell you they are everything that dreams are made of. I went with the Rustichella (prosciutto de parma, fresh mozzarella and tomato, Tega Hills greens, served on Italian rustic bread), and my mom decided on The Butchers Panino (Tuscan salami, mortadello, prosciutto de parma, provolone, fresh tomato, and mixed greens). We inhaled them in about .5 seconds so I'm glad I remembered to snap a picture of them before they were completely destroyed.

Then we made our way to a local shop called CLT Find, and let me tell you it is the cutest little boutique with local vendors. They had everything from hand made candles (and if you know me I am the biggest sucker for candles) to accessories, and more! I absolutely fell in love with that sweet space. While I was there I bought the cutest gold necklace with the state of North Carolina stamped on it (I had been looking for something like this forever, so obviously I couldn't not grab it). It's probably a good thing I left my debit card at home and only had a little bit of cash on me because I would have easily blown all of my money in that dreamy little shop.

Needless to say, if you have never stopped by 7th Street Public Market you must add it to your list of places to go to! It encompasses the vibe of one of my favorites cities (Seattle), all while in the comfort of my hometown. Plus it's filled with local vendors and artisans, and I'm all about supporting my fellow Charlotteans.

Monday, Monday.

Most people look at Monday as the worst day of the week,
but recently I've tried looking at Monday with a new attitude.
Monday's are the start of a brand new week, full of endless opportunity.
You have the choice from the moment you wake up to decide what kind of day you want it to be. Normally I always get caught up in the "Monday Blues" and end up spending the whole day binge watching Netflix; but this week I wasn't going to let that happen. Monday morning came and I decided that if I put on my favorite little black dress, there was no way that I would catch the dreaded  "Monday Blues". I am a firm believer in the saying, "if you look good, you'll feel good" and when you feel good you'll see the positive energy start to surround you. Which is why I decided to spend my Monday surrounded by the people I love with nothing but smiles and laughter all around me. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my day any other way.

Moral of the story:
MONDAY'S DON'T ALWAYS HAVE TO SUCK!

White Winter. Black Fur.

As I've said before, winter is one of my favorite seasons. When the talk of snow started buzzing around the city, you better believe I went out and stocked up on bread and milk (like every other person in Charlotte). The first snow of the season is always a magical thing. It brings a childish excitement to everyone in its way; although as an adult a snow day just means having to bare the freezing cold while going on with your day to day business. But it's always nice to have that one cold and quiet moment to embrace that little spark of that childhood feeling.

2016: winter weather + a fresh start

Winter has always been one of my favorite seasons.
There's something about the crisp cold air, and a piping
hot cup of coffee that just makes my heart happy. Although
everything in nature is dying, I feel like it's mother natures way of
shedding all of the old to make room for the new----
which is extremely appropriate considering that the
'New Year' happens during winter.
With a new year, you guys can expect a lot of exciting new things that
will be happening with my blog! I plan expanding passed my
love for fashion. I will be posting recipes, DIY's, and much more.
Stay tuned to find out what 2016 will hold!

Virginia is for lovers

The best part of the holidays are getting to spend time with the people
that mean the most to you. This past week I spent a few days with my family
in Virginia, We spent our time laughing, exchanging family stories, sipping coffee
by the breakfast table, enjoying beautiful Christmas decorations, and eating peppermint
ice cream (a Grieco family "must have" every Christmas season). While I was down there, we
dropped by our family reunion that one of my great-cousins was hosting. We pulled up in the
gravel driveway, and the yard was full of family that I didn't even know I had! There were great-grandparents, second cousins, great-aunts, and nieces and nephews that I had never even met
before. Everyone laughing, drinking, playing with the dog, hanging on the dock by the river; needless tosay we all had a blast. Every person that I would introduce my self to said to me
"Oh my God, I haven't seen you since you were this little" and then they would motion
below their hip showing me how little I was. Everyone one had amazing stories to tell, and
I loved hearing them all. I truly enjoyed every minute I got to spend with each
and every person there. We all had the best time enjoying each others company.

Life is short; spending time with people you
love is a true blessing and should never be taken for granted.

Tis' the season; HATS+PONCHOS

It's that time of year again; cold weather, dark lips, pumpkin spice--OH MY! I thought I would talk about some of my favorite styling pieces that every girl needs for this time of year! I've been really big into keeping it simple when it comes to outfitting, but spicing it all up with some great fall accessories. With my outfit (shown above) I kept it simple with a muted taupey-green V-neck from Urban Outfitters, and draped my new scarf poncho from Anthropologie over top. I've been extremely into layering recently, so the more layers the better (but be careful there is a fine line between cute and frumpy)! I also wore my black distressed AG denim from Anthropologie, and from there I decided to spice up the outfit with my burnt orange felt hat that I stumbled upon at Urban Outfitters. It is by far one of my favorite pieces I have in my closet at the moment. I pulled my whole look together with my dainty deer antler earrings, and my favorite lip color "Crazy For Coffee" by Maybelline. Stay tuned for my fall favorites coming soon, and more style inspiration!
